Summer Iron Booster

Iron and vitamin C play crucial roles during pregnancy for both the mother and developing baby
Combining Iron with Vitamin C allows for better absorption

Ingredients:

• 1 cup mango (Fresh or Frozen)
• ½ cup pineapple
• 1 orange, peeled
• 1 handful spinach
• ½ cup carrot juice or water
• 1 tbsp hemp seeds

1 cup fresh or frozen mango
Vitamin C: High content helps boost iron absorption.
Also rich in folate and antioxidants.
½ cup fresh or frozen pineapple
Vitamin C: Further enhances iron absorption.
Contains bromelain, which may aid digestion.
1 orange, peeled
Excellent source of vitamin C, which significantly improves the absorption of plant-based (non-heme) iron.
Also provides hydration and fiber.
1 handful spinach
Iron: Plant-based (non-heme) iron.
Also rich in folate, calcium, and fiber.
½ cup water / ice

1 tbsp hemp seeds
Iron: Hemp seeds provide a small but useful amount of plant-based iron.
Also rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which support baby’s brain development.

Peel the orange and rinse the spinach thoroughly. If you’re using fresh fruit instead of frozen, you can add a few ice cubes to chill the smoothie.
